Spain’s Digital Kit is back in 2025, helping self-employed workers and SMEs digitize their business with grants of up to €12,000. This guide breaks down what’s new this year, how to apply, what services are covered, and who qualifies.
What is the Digital Kit and why it matters
Free money to digitize your business.
The Digital Kit is a public grant program funded by the EU’s Next Generation funds. It gives businesses vouchers to cover digital services such as websites, online shops, CRMs, even AI.
Its main goal is to help Spain’s small businesses and freelancers grow online. It continues into 2025 with more services, a simpler application, and new tech categories.
How to apply for the Digital Kit
A 5-step process you can do yourself.
- Go to acelerapyme.es
- Take the digital maturity test
- Register your business or freelancer profile
- Choose your services and provider from the public catalog (called agentes digitalizadores)
- Submit your application
You can also authorize a digital agent to apply for you.
You’ll need a few docs like a tax certificate (certificado de estar al corriente), business registration proof, and social security clearance.
Applications are open until funds run out.

What the Digital Kit covers in 2025
A wide range of services - now including AI and automation.
Here’s what you can use your Digital Kit for this year:
- Website and online presence
- E-commerce setup
- Facturae-compatible invoicing tools
- Cybersecurity
- CRM (client relationship management)
- Automation and AI (chatbots, task automation) - new in 2025
- Business intelligence and data tools
- Social media and ad campaign management
Only official providers (agentes digitalizadores) can deliver these services under the grant.
Digital Kit for self-employed workers (autónomos)
Freelancers can now get up to €3,000 to digitize their business.
Autónomos are in Segment III: up to €3,000 (includes a €1,000 “safe workstation” bonus). Claimed €2,000 earlier? File a quick Red.es form to grab the extra €1,000.
What you can use it for:
- Facturae‑ready invoicing software
- A website or online store
- CRM (customer management)
- AI tools like chatbots and automation
- Social media management services
- Secure workstation pack (laptop + endpoint protection) - new in 2025
A note on the laptop benefit: We usually advise our customers to skip this option. It works like a one‑year lease: you pay 21 % VAT upfront (≈ €210) and another €150 + VAT if you decide to keep the device after 12 months. Required software licences (Windows, antivirus, encryption) significantly cut into the available budget, so you’re often left with a low‑spec laptop. Buying a device outright and deducting the full expense and VAT tends to be the smarter move.
You don’t need to pay upfront - Red.es pays the provider directly. Just apply through the Acelera Pyme portal.
Not yet registered as autónomo? See our guide on becoming self-employed in Spain.
Accelerate SME Digital Kit: bigger grants for small businesses
SMEs can get up to €12,000 (plus a new €1,000 “safe workstation” top‑up) depending on company size.
How much can you get? There are 3 segments based on employee count:
- Segment I (10–49 employees): €12,000 voucher.
- Segment II (3–9 employees): €6,000 voucher.
- Segment III (0–2 employees): €3,000 total voucher. This includes the extra €1,000 for the “Puesto de trabajo seguro” (safe workstation) category.
Safe workstation add‑on :
- Who can use it? Only Segment III beneficiaries. It comes out of the same €3,000 cap (not extra money).
- Amount: Up to €1,000.
- Cap: 1 device maximum.
To apply, your business must:
- Be registered and active
- Be up to date with taxes and Social Security
- Complete a digital maturity assessment on Acelera Pyme
These are non-repayable grants - funded by the EU, not a loan.

Key changes in 2025
What’s new this year compared to 2024.
- Easier portal design on Acelera Pyme
- You can track application progress in real time
- More services in English and other languages
- Voucher portability: easier to change providers
- Expanded eligible services, especially in AI and automation
Bottom line
If you're self-employed or run a small business in Spain, Digital Kit is a simple, risk-free way to get funding for your digital tools. The money doesn’t need to be paid back, and applying is free. You could save thousands in business costs - and stay ahead digitally.
